Today, the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) announced that the Encina Wastewater Authority (EWA), a 36-million-gallons-per-day (MGD) treatment facility located in Carlsbad, Calif., has won the Gold Peak Performance Award for 2013 for achieving perfect regulatory compliance last year. This award is given to wastewater treatment facilities that achieve 100-percent compliance with their NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit for an entire calendar year.

More than 50 Southeastern Occupational Safety alumni joined 4,000-plus occupational safety professionals for the event.
