As President and Chief Operating Officer, Gene’s role is to ensure that all the components of our organization are focused on growth, leadership, and building lasting customer relationships. His exceptional knowledge of management, sales, engineering and environmental services makes him exceptionally well poised to lead the company’s strategic direction.
Gene’s focus and responsibilities include the sales and operational oversight of the company. Prior to LES, Gene joined SWS Environmental Services, a private equity owned firm, in January of 2009 as Company President. He was responsible for all aspects of the business, including corporate departments such as finance, human resources, information technology, legal, proposal development and waste services. In addition, Gene’s responsibilities included sales and operational oversight of the field service and remedial technologies business units. Gene worked for Clean Harbors Environmental Services (NYSE: CLH) for nearly 20 years, where he held various executive management positions including Senior Regional Vice President of Sales and Operations, Chief Operating Officer, President of the Site Services Business Unit and Executive Vice President of Business Line Management. He was an Executive Staff Member and the Executive Manager who attended Board of Directors meetings for nearly 15 years. Gene holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of New Hampshire and a master’s degree in civil/environmental engineering from Northeastern University. In 2009, he attended and received a certification from the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program (AMP176).
