Giving Back To Our Community
Supporting the communities in which we work and live.
Taking care of our environment includes supporting our community. Liquid Environmental Solutions is committed to supporting numerous causes. We concentrate our efforts on those organizations and causes which promote a clean environment, provide humanitarian response to those in need, support public education, and promote equal opportunity for all.
Humanitarian Response:
Hurricane Katrina Relief
Like so many Americans, the Liquid Environmental Solutions team wanted to offer our collective support to the relief efforts in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Working in concert with the Houston Restaurant Association, in which we are active associate members, Liquid Environmental Solutions offered to match dollar for dollar all personal contributions of our employees to the American Red Cross Katrina Relief Fund. The result was a contribution of $22,442 to this critical relief effort.

Environment:
Protecting the Coastline of San Diego, CA
Liquid Environmental Solutions has some of its offices in San Diego, CA. To contribute to this community, we’ve supported the efforts of an organization whose mission is congruent with ours: San Diego Coastkeeper. This nonprofit is dedicated to cleaning up the coasts, beaches, bays and waterways of San Diego County through legal advocacy, public education and volunteerism. Their mission is just like ours: to keep our liquid environment clean and safe for us and future generations to enjoy. San Diego Coastkeeper recently celebrated its tenth anniversary at its annual Ocean Gala, recounting a decade of success is turning around the effects of over 40 years of industrial and municipal pollution. There’s still much work to be done, and we’re honored to support San Diego Coastkeeper in its continuing efforts on the behalf of San Diego’s citizens. More information about San Diego Coastkeeper can be found at www.sdcoastkeeper.org.

Environment:
Trinity Trash Bash
Improving the quality of our waterways is one important reason for the state and local regulations governing the collection and proper treatment of liquid waste. But helping protect the environment is not just our business. In addition, many of our employee team members are active outdoorsmen and women, plying Texas and Louisiana rivers and streams for sport and recreation. In our home city of Dallas, these mutual interests led us to become a Friend of the Trinity River, including serving as a co-sponsor of Trinity Trash Bash 2003.
Since 1992, thousands of North Central Texas residents have gathered each September at major parks along the Trinity River and its tributaries to clean its banks of debris. Trinity Trash Bash has also become an annual opportunity for more than 5,000 volunteers to learn about the environmental issues and recreational opportunities of the Trinity River.

Education and Equal Opportunity:
Historical Black Colleges and Universities
In January 2003, in commemoration of the Martin Luther King National Holiday, our company recognized five Historically Black Colleges and Universities located in the communities where we work and live. On behalf of every member of our employee team, we made donations totaling the value of a full day’s company wide payroll to:
Texas Southern University (Houston)
Paul Quinn College (Dallas)
Huston-Tilloston College (Austin)
St. Phillips College (San Antonio)
Southern University at Shreveport (Shreveport)
Since their founding, these colleges have played an important part of strengthening the community through an informed citizenry. We are pleased to salute their mission’s success and their continuing role in educating future leaders.
